The National Science Foundation of the USA visits IMH LHII with the "Preparing Technicians for the Future of Work" project.

At the integrated vocational training school of IMH, we received a visit from National Science Foundation of the USA, accompanied by the "Preparing Technicians for the Future of Work" project. The project is directed by the Center for Occupational Research and Development (CORD).

The aim of this project is to facilitate regional collaboration between educators from institutions across the United States and industry partners to identify the impact of emerging technologies on the need for highly skilled workers. Throughout the visit, they will observe practices that could be implemented on American campuses and present their findings to a national audience in July.

As the work environment evolves and innovations progress rapidly, it is essential for technical workers to acquire new skills. Given the global nature of these changes, they also aim to study how different European countries address these challenges.

In summary, the visits of the EU Study Tour 2024 will provide an opportunity to examine how new technologies influence the training of technicians and the design of educational programs. This exchange will contribute to a better understanding of the current and future job landscape, identifying essential skills that will be necessary for graduates across all industry sectors as technology advances.
