The Machine Tool Institute (IMH) announces our active participation in the Tkgune programme, an initiative launched by the Vice-Ministry of Vocational Education with the aim of promoting the two-way transfer of knowledge between vocational training schools and companies. This programme seeks to develop innovation projects that not only meet the scientific-technological updating needs of teachers, but also encourage continuous innovation.

Since September 2018, our collaboration with the company DIKAR has intensified thanks to Tkgune, although our relationship dates back to 1998. Throughout these years, we have worked in various areas, from training courses (degrees and certificates), DUAL programmes (engineering and vocational training students) and industrial support.

DIKAR Featured Projects

Our first major project with DIKAR under Tkgune focused on the industrialisation of an essential part of their production. This project included:

  • Process definition.
  • Technical support in the purchase of machinery.
  • Realisation of prototypes and pre-series.
  • Training of DIKAR staff.
  • Definition of layouts.

In addition, this initial project has been followed by four other similar projects, each contributing to strengthen DIKAR's infrastructure and capacity.

Continuous Collaborations: Innovation and Improvement Subsequently, we have worked on several fronts:

  • Improvement of machining processes.
  • Advanced design of workpiece clamping systems and equipment, tooling.
  • Participation in the robotisation of part creation processes.
  • Etc.

Dissemination and Knowledge Transfer

Once the projects are completed, we focus on their dissemination both internally and externally. At IMH, these projects update the knowledge of our teaching staff and students, ensuring that they are up to date with the latest technologies and methodologies. At DIKAR, we make available all the knowledge acquired, reinforcing their innovative capacity.

Learning and Growth

We have acquired valuable experience in:

  • Programming and use of 5-axis machines.
  • Programming and use of 2-spindle lathes.
  • CAD CAM and parametric programming.
  • Machining of various materials (hardened steels, INOX, titanium, polymers).
  • Process improvement methodologies.

Recent visit to DIKAR

Last week, a group of Vocational Training teachers from the IMH, accompanied by Joxan Joubert from TKNIKA, visited the DIKAR facilities. During the visit, they were able to see first-hand the projects and work carried out in collaboration, which resulted in a very enriching experience full of learning.

We keep moving forward

At the IMH, we remain committed to innovation and collaboration. Through the Tkgune programme, we will continue to work closely with companies like DIKAR to drive knowledge transfer and foster innovation in our educational community and in industry.
