Digitisation in Vocational Training: IMH Moves into the Future in Mechanical Manufacturing
In a step towards modernisation, the IMH Vocational Training Institute is immersed in a project to digitise its Mechanical Manufacturing workshops. For some years now, several VET Centres have been implementing innovative initiatives in this respect in which IMH has been involved, seeking to digitise the schools' workshops and thus empower their students to become agents of change in a historically conventional sector.
The digitisation of the workshops includes the creation of smart tool stores and stock control systems, as well as the connection of machines and the digitisation of maintenance management. With the aim of unifying and optimising all the data collected in the workshop, it was decided to implement the Fagor Digital Suite management tool in the IMH workshop.
Fagor Digital Suite is a comprehensive solution that connects machines with production and management systems, capturing essential data and transforming it into valuable information. The use of this tool not only facilitates decision-making, but also prepares students to work in digitalised environments, which is crucial for their future incorporation into the industrial fabric.
To ensure effective integration of this tool, several training sessions have been scheduled with IMH teachers, where workshop users will be able to customise the design of the Fagor Digital Suite interface to their specific needs. This interconnection of equipment not only promotes work efficiency, but also optimises machine maintenance, plans manufacturing processes and analyses workshop occupancy.
With this initiative, IMH aims to improve the operational efficiency of the workshop, increase the flexibility and adaptability of the machines and improve predictive maintenance, as well as providing our students with the necessary tools to face the challenges of modern industry.
